About the Club

The Smoky River Soccer Club is a regional minor soccer association that offers youth soccer programs from U5-U15. The Club, which operates home play from its headquarters on the fields of G.P. Vanier School in Donnelly, AB currently provides outdoor youth soccer from late April to the end of June annually. We plan to expand the minor soccer program to include winter indoor soccer over time.

The Club is made up of dedicated players, parents/guardians, volunteer coaches and a volunteer Board of Directors, all who work hard to maintain an atmosphere and attitude that values:

✔ inclusion
✔ fair play
✔ respect for all
✔ emphasis on development of the whole person
✔ training to result in progressive player development
✔ opportunities for coach and referee development
✔ a spirit of healthy competiveness

The Board of Directors seeks competitive play opportunities on behalf of each team. Due to a combination of small population size of the neighbouring communities and longer travel distances, the Club cooperates with other soccer clubs to offer league play and Mini Meet opportunities to supplement house league play. In order to achieve this, all of the clubs in the small communities in NW Alberta undertake cooperative planning and scheduling activities. In order for any one club to be at its best, we all need to be at our best!
